Anyone 12 or older, who is a resident or representing a non-profit agency in the City or County of Midland, may take an MCTV Workshop! Training costs $45 ($20 training + $25 Access user fee good for 1 year). |

Summer Video Camp
The MCTV Network offers video production camps for Midland area teens. Campers will learn all about MCTV’s video production equipment and use it to create a complete program called Studio B!
Campers learn how to operate MCTV’s professional HD Camcorders, edit video on an iMac using Final Cut Pro X, and work as a crew member in a real TV Studio! Upon completion of the camp, teens will have full access to the equipment and services that MCTV has to offer. Campers also have the opportunity to volunteer on MCTV productions like local sporting events, community concerts, public access talk shows, and many more!
Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Register by calling 837-3474 or come to MCTV’s Offices during business hours. The cost for the video camp is just $50 which covers daily snacks, a souvenir T-shirt, a pizza party, a DVD recording of the completed show, and the $25 MCTV User membership for the year. Video Camp is open to Midland residents, ages 12 – 17.
Summer Sports Broadcasting Camp
The MCTV Network is hosting a Sports Broadcasting Camp for Midland teens from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on July 18th through July 21st. The goal of this camp is to expose students to all aspects of a “LIVE” sports broadcast on community media. Instructors will train campers on the technical aspects of video production, live sports coverage, and being on-air talent. Campers will use a variety of production equipment used in the creation of televised sports. The campers will be invited to use the skills they have learned to assist MCTV Staff and Volunteers in creating a “LIVE” broadcast of the Great Lakes Loons vs. West Michigan Whitecaps on Friday, July 22nd at Dow Diamond.
The MCTV Network is partnering with Dow Diamond and ESPN 100.9-FM to provide tours and insight into the world of professional sports commentary, sports radio operations, and game-day video operations at ESPN 100.9-FM studio and Dow Diamond.
The cost of the Sports Broadcasting Camp is $50 which covers the cost of instruction, daily snacks, a souvenir t-shirt, and membership to the MCTV Network for one year. Membership allows campers to use all the equipment, facilities, and services available at Midland Community Television.
Pre-registration is required in person at MCTV‘s Offices in the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library during business hours. Payment is required at the time of registration via cash or checks payable to MCTV Network. Register early as spaces are limited.
