This page provides information about meetings of City public boards, commissions, and councils held electronically during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As the City does not typically hold electronic-only meetings for boards, commissions, and councils, we thank our residents in advance for their patience as we implement these processes during challenging circumstances.

Please note: At this time, public meetings of the Midland City Council and City boards, commissions, and committees will be evaluated on a meeting-by-meeting basis to assess their need to meet and take action on matters of significant importance.

How to Watch, Listen, or Participate

Agendas for government meetings that will be held electronically will be posted on the City’s Agenda Center just as they are posted for in-person meetings. Information on how to watch and call into each meeting will be provided at the top of the agenda where the "location" of the meeting is typically provided.

The City will utilize the Zoom remote conferencing service to provide video and audio for the public meeting. Prior to each meeting, a website link will be provided that can be used by residents to view and participate in the meeting.(Residents can also use the generic link https://zoom.us/join and enter the provided Meeting ID and password for the meeting they wish to attend.) This can be done on a desktop or laptop computer, smartphone, or via the Zoom mobile app. A phone number will also be provided for those who want to listen to the meeting without video and/or provide public comment.

Electronic City Council meetings will be broadcast live on MGTV-188 (Charter) or 99 (Uverse) and streamed live on the City’s on-demand video service, Granicus. Whenever possible, meetings of other public boards and commissions will also be live broadcast in the same manner. 

These meetings will also be recorded and replayed on MGTV after the meeting as well as available for viewing after the meeting on the City’s on-demand video service. Click here to access Granicus.

How to Provide Public Comment

Residents may submit public comment electronically for these meetings via email to cityhall@midland-mi.org no later than 4 p.m. on the day of the meeting. These email comments will be provided to the public body’s members prior to the meeting start time. Public comment can also be offered during the public comment portion of the live meeting through the Zoom video platform or by calling into the electronic meeting’s provided phone number.

Accommodations for Persons with Disabilities

The City will make every reasonable effort to accommodate individuals with disabilities in electronic meetings. Please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 989.7837.3310 or clerk@midland-mi.org to request additional accommodations. Requests received less than two business days in advance may not be accommodated.
