[ARCHIVED] City of Midland Closings for Christmas and New Year's Holidays

December 9, 2016 – All City of Midland offices will be closed Friday, December 23 and Monday, December 26 in recognition of the Christmas holiday and Monday, January 2 in recognition of the New Year's holiday.

Residents with Friday, December 23 refuse and Week 3 recycling collection should place items at the curb on Thursday, December 22.  Residents with Monday, December 26 refuse and Week 4 recycling collection should place items at the curb on Tuesday, December 27.  Residents with Monday, January 2 refuse and Week 1 recycling collection should place items at the curb on Tuesday, January 3.  Place items at the curb no later than 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection.

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be open from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, December 23, Monday, December 26, and Monday, January, 2.

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will be closed Friday, December 23 through Monday, December 26; Sunday, January 1; and Monday, January 2.  The Library will be open Saturday, December 31 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Dial-A-Ride Transportation service (DART) will be closed Friday, December 23 through Monday, December 26.  DART will also be closed Sunday, January 1 and Monday, January 2.  Dial-A-Ride will provide bus service on Saturday, December 31 from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., with phone service from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended Saturday, December 24; Sunday, December 25; and Sunday, January 1.

The Midland Civic Arena will be closed Saturday, December 24 and Sunday, December 25.  Go to www.midlandcivicarena.com for a complete public skating schedule.

Midland City Forest will be closed Christmas Day.  Go to www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/cityforest for updates on when the Chalet will be open for toboggan, sled, ski, snowshoe and skate rentals, and for weather conditions relating to other outdoor activities.
