[ARCHIVED] Crews to Restripe Main Street on November 9 for Next Phase of Downtown Traffic Control Study

November 8, 2016 – Weather permitting, contractors will begin restriping lanes along Main Street in downtown Midland on Wednesday, November 9 in preparation for the second phase of the City of Midland’s downtown traffic control study.

Crews will be restriping Main Street at the intersections of Ashman, Rodd, and McDonald Streets to remove left turn lanes. Each intersection will continue to function as an all-way stop. Motorists may still turn left at each intersection from the single travel lane. In addition, traffic signals at each intersection will be turned off and covered on Thursday, November 10 (weather permitting).

Motorists should expect some traffic congestion and lane closures during the restriping process and are advised to use caution while traveling through the area.
