[ARCHIVED] "My Dearest Friend" at the Library

October 28, 2016 – A unique play about John & Abigail Adams will be the next program in the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library’s “Founding Fathers” lecture series on Thursday, November 3. A husband and wife acting team from Gem Theatrics in Grand Rapids will portray John Adams and his wife, Abigail. John was our nation’s second president and a founding father. This free program will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the library auditorium.

My Dearest Friend chronicles the true love story of John and Abigail Adams. This stunning new play begins as John writes to their son John Quincy Adams on the death of Abigail. In a poignant flashback, Abigail comes back to life and the two re-live the high points of their lives together. The play was written by Michigan playwright Mary G. Kron.

This is the third of four programs scheduled through December. The Library is located at 1710 W. St. Andrews Road in Midland. For more information, contact the Library at 989-837-3430 or go to www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/library.
