August 19, 2016 – Following an unforeseen delay, the final phase of the 2016 Surface Treatment Program will begin on Monday, August 22. The application of a fog seal, which involves spraying a light coat of oil on the road surface, takes about an hour to cure effectively.
Crews will apply the seal to Dublin Avenue, Stark Road, Airport Road, Perrine Road, Letts Street, and Sturgeon Avenue on August 22. During the seal application, traffic on these streets will be reduced to one lane for about two hours as the material is applied to one lane at a time. Motorists may wish to find alternate routes during this time to avoid congestion and delays. This phase is expected to be completed by Tuesday, August 23.
This process is highly weather dependent and schedules may change with rain or the threat of rain.
