[ARCHIVED] Road Construction Impacts to Downtown Midland

May 16, 2014 – Change is building in downtown Midland, and with it comes temporary road closures due to construction.

Throughout the remainder of May and into June watch for temporary closures of one lane and parking spaces along Ashman Street from Ann Street to Larkin Street as the underground relocation of utilities through this corridor begins. Portions of the intersection of Larkin and Ashman will also be closed intermittently.

The east lane of Ashman from Main to Ann is closed due to the Main Street development project along with Main Street parking spaces adjacent to the development. These closures are expected to last through 2014. Despite the closures, there is still plenty of parking lot space and on-street parking available in downtown Midland.

With the 2014 construction season now underway, motorists are encouraged to sign up for weekly and last-minute construction updates by subscribing to City Hall News on the City of Midland website at www.midland-mi.org. Motorists may also check the construction updates page on the City’s website for construction details.

For questions or further information regarding the project, contact the City’s Engineering Department at 989-837-3348.
