[ARCHIVED] Enjoy July 4th Festivities but Leave Personal Fireworks at Home

June 26, 2015 - Big events are planned in Midland for July 4th. Join City of Midland Parks and Recreation as it produces the area’s greatest display of fireworks and entertainment.

In 2015 we are excited to bring you a variety of songs you know and love from two mid-Michigan Bands. At 5:30 p.m., The Organization will take the stage and warm up the crowd with a wide variety of jazz-influenced favorites. At 8 p.m., mid-Michigan's premier party-band, CEYX, will take us into the "high lights" of the night!

At dusk you can expect the crown jewel of the evening – the annual Fourth of July fireworks, which can be viewed from Emerson Park, Currie Municipal Golf Course, and Chippewassee Park near the Tridge. In addition to the fireworks, vendors will be on hand with your favorite food and beverages. Bring your friends, family, and your lawn chairs and blankets to the event of the summer.

For the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, personal fireworks like sparklers, firecrackers, and other items will be prohibited in city parks. As an additional safety measure, please consider leaving your pets at home while you enjoy the fireworks event. Police officers will patrol the parks during the fireworks spectacular.

For more information, contact the Midland Parks and Recreation Department at 989-837-6930 or email them at recreation@midland-mi.org.
