June 19, 2015 – Beginning on Saturday, June 20, Eastman Avenue will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction and shifted to the southbound lanes from Hines Street to Saginaw Road as crews begin to reconstruct utilities and road surface on the northbound lanes of Eastman.
During work, motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes around the construction area to avoid traffic congestion and possible long delays.
This work represents the second of a three-phase Michigan Department of Transportation project. Phase two work is anticipated to be completed by about Labor Day weekend in early September. The third and final phase, involving reconstruction of the southbound lanes of Eastman, will likely take place between early September and early November.
As the project continues, information will be posted on the City of Midland Facebook and Twitter pages. Like us at facebook.com/MidlandConstruction and follow us at twitter.com/cityofmidlandmi for updates.
