L-R: Director of Water Reclamation Jared Driscoll, Director of Water Services Peter Schwarz, Budget Analyst Heather Holzinger & City Manager Brad Kaye
June 23, 2023 – The City of Midland is excited to announce that it has recognized Water and Water Reclamation Budget Analyst Heather Holzinger as its latest recipient of a City Strive Award. The award was presented during a department meeting earlier this month.
Holzinger received the Teamwork Award, which recognizes an individual for fostering and participating in the collaborative effort of a group to achieve a common goal, solve a problem, or to complete a task in the most effective and efficient way.
She was nominated by Director of Water Reclamation Jared Driscoll for her dedicated support of the City’s utilities departments and her detailed, thorough work in assisting with the implementation of the Concept 5 Sewer Improvement Plan.
“Heather is a true example of what it means to be a public servant. Heather continuously goes above and beyond to service members of the community as well as City staff.
Heather has been a key contributor in the City's utility infrastructure projects, including Concept 5. Whether it is dealing with budgetary issues, administrative tasks, resident questions and concerns, or even assisting in writing City Code of Ordinance language, Heather has been there every step of the way. I can’t count how many times we have received communication from Heather late at night or on weekends. She will do whatever it takes to support us in anything we need and she does so without complaint and with almost no recognition outside of those who work with Heather and know just how great she is. She is one of those ‘behind-the-scenes’ employees who is consistently making us look good and deserves this recognition!”
Heather Holzinger has worked for the City since 2007.
“Providing utilities services that are clean, safe, and functioning efficiently is one of the most important responsibilities we hold as a municipal government and the incredible work Heather does every day ensures we are doing just that,” said City Manager Brad Kaye. “Heather’s reliability and extensive experience have made her a critical part of our utilities team and we’re very grateful for her knowledge and dedication.”
