[ARCHIVED] Community Invited to Peace Officers Memorial Day Ceremony

May 3, 2023 - In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed into law designating May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week that it falls within as National Police Week. This week is a time set aside for the nation to show appreciation to those officers currently serving and to honor and remember fallen officers annually.

The Midland Police Department and Midland County Sheriff’s Office would like to invite the public to its annual Peace Officers Memorial Day Ceremony at the Midland Law Enforcement Center on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 4:30 PM.

Midland Police Chief Nicole Ford and Midland County Sheriff’s Office Captain Shannon Guilbeaux will be keynote speakers at the ceremony. This ceremony will be outdoors and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available.

Questions about the event can be directed to Community Relations Officer Brennon Warren at (989) 839-4772.
