[ARCHIVED] Board of Review to Hear Property Assessment Appeals

February 10, 2023 – The Midland Board of Review will hear property assessment appeals Monday, March 13 through Wednesday, March 15 at Midland City Hall, 333 W. Ellsworth Street, Midland, MI.


An appeal may be made in-person and also by letter or by email if received by the Board no later than March 15, 2023 at 5 p.m. 

The meeting schedule is as follows: 

  • Monday, March 13: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 14: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, March 15:  9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m.     

The Board of Review will also accept applications for consideration of poverty exemptions and disabled veterans exemptions.  Applications are available at the City Assessor’s office or on the City’s website at  

An appeal before the March 2023 Board of Review is required for further right of appeal to the Michigan Tax Tribunal.  An appeal to the Tribunal will only be accepted if an appeal is first made to the local Board of Review.  Beginning in 2007, commercial, industrial, developmental, and utility property may be appealed directly to the Tribunal without protest before the Board of Review, as provided for by P.A. 174 of 2006.
