June 17, 2022 – Grown-ups: It’s time to unleash your inner child! The City of Midland and the Downtown Development Authority are excited to announce the return of Adult Recess this summer in Downtown Midland.

Adult Recess is a free lunchtime activity for residents to unwind, re-energize, and express themselves through play. Participants can challenge a friend to a game of giant Jenga, giant Candy Land, or giant Connect Four; play a lively round of cornhole; hula hoop; blow bubbles; and more.

Adult Recess begins on Wednesday, June 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in The Commons Pedestrian Plazas between Ashman and McDonald streets and will continue every Wednesday through at least August 31. Participation is open to all ages who want to have fun.

“Extra recess” may be announced sporadically at any time on the Downtown Midland and City of Midland social media channels, so be sure to check them often for updates. Follow along at @CityofMidlandMI or @DowntownMidlandMI on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
