[ARCHIVED] Adult Recess Returns to Downtown Midland

June 29, 2021 – After a one-year hiatus, school is back in session – or at least recess is! The City of Midland and the Downtown Development Authority are excited to announce the return of Adult Recess this summer in Downtown Midland.

Adult Recess is a free lunchtime activity for residents to unwind, re-energize, and express themselves through play. Participants can challenge a friend to a game of giant Jenga or Connect Four, play a lively round of cornhole, hula hoop, blow bubbles, and more.

Adult Recess begins on Wednesday, June 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in The Commons Pedestrian Plazas between Ashman and McDonald streets and will continue every Wednesday through at least September 1. Participation is open to all ages who want to have fun.

“Extra recess” may be announced sporadically at any time on the Downtown Midland and City of Midland social media channels, so be sure to check them often for updates. Follow along at @CityofMidlandMI or @DowntownMidlandMI on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
