[ARCHIVED] Wheeler Street Reconstruction Begins Monday, May 24

May 18, 2021 – Beginning Monday, May 24, crews will begin a street reconstruction and water main project on Wheeler Street that will close the roadway to westbound traffic through October.

Wheeler Street will be closed to westbound traffic from Swede Avenue to the US-10 ramp at Waldo Avenue during the project. Westbound traffic will be detoured around the closure using Waldo Avenue, E. Ashman Street, and Swede Avenue. Eastbound traffic on Wheeler will be maintained during construction. Motorists traveling through the construction zone should drive with caution while work is underway.

The project is estimated to be completed in October 2021.
