April 16, 2021 – Midland residents can stay up-to-date on the Midland City Modern Master Plan process via a new website launched earlier this week.
At www.midlandcitymodern.com, residents will find a variety of information and resources related to the City’s master planning process, including public input opportunities, community survey results, and status updates as the plan moves forward. The site also offers resources about key topics related to the Master Plan update, specifically neighborhoods and livability, transportation and mobility, and sustainability and resiliency.
“The best Master Plan for the future of Midland will be one that includes as much input from our community as possible,” said City Director of Planning and Community Development Grant Murschel. “I encourage our residents to visit the Midland City Modern website frequently for updates and engage in the process as we move forward in the coming months.”
In addition to the Midland City Modern website, updates on the master planning process will be shared periodically on the City’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram channels at @cityofmidlandmi; via video on the MCTV Network; and via news release when applicable.
The City’s Master Plan serves as the City’s official policy guide and strategy for community improvements and development over the next 30 years. Master plans seek to maintain stabilization in cities while directing redevelopment and change, increasing livability and neighborhoods, and transforming it into a more sustainable, innovative, accessible, attractive, and economically vibrant community. The City’s last comprehensive master planning process took place in 2005-2006.
