[ARCHIVED] We Hear You Coalition Launches Racial & Ethnic Inequity Survey

February 12, 2021 – Midland County residents are encouraged to share their experiences with racial and ethnic inequity and local law enforcement via an online survey by the We Hear You Coalition.

Developed in conjunction with Saginaw Valley State University, the Midland Racial and Ethnic Equity and Inclusion Survey explores issues of racial and ethnic inequity and offers community members an opportunity to share their experiences directly with community leaders. Through the survey respondents can share their experiences with racial (in)equity in the Midland community. Additional questions explore respondents’ attitudes toward and experiences with local law enforcement, healthcare, housing, and economic opportunities, the COVID-19 pandemic and the May 2020 flooding event.

Residents can access the survey online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/73XQQX7. Respondents must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of Midland County or the City of Midland to participate. The survey should take about 25 minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous.

The results of the survey will be shared with local government, law enforcement, non-profit organizations, and elected officials to help identify community issues and improve racial and ethnic experiences within Midland County. Results will also be shared with the public at a later date.
