November 20, 2020 – The spirit of the Christmas season is landing soon at the Jack Barstow Municipal Airport – including a possible visit from the man in red himself!
Beginning Saturday, November 28, families can visit the Barstow Airport terminal to pick up holiday treat bags and drop off letters to Santa Claus. Each treat bag will contain a candy cane, a wooden airplane ornament, and a simple craft that children can build at home. Families should call 989-492-0252 to reserve a treat bag as quantities are limited.
Visitors are asked to follow current COVID-19 prevention protocol while picking up their bags, including wearing masks, maintaining six (6) feet of social distance between other visitors, and limiting the number of guests in the terminal to six (6) people at a time. Visitors may also call the terminal office at 989-835-3231 upon arrival to have treat bags delivered to their vehicle.
In addition, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1093 has received word from the North Pole that a special holiday guest may make a secret landing at Barstow Airport in December! Stay tuned to Midland Community Television (MCTV) on Charter channel 188 and U-verse channel 99 and the Facebook pages for the City of Midland (@CityofMidlandMI), MCTV (@MidlandCommunityTelevision), and EAA Chapter 1093 (@EAAChapter1093) for more information.
