[ARCHIVED] Boil Water Advisory for Larkin & Mills Townships

July 8, 2020 – High water demand on the water system in Larkin and Mills townships has triggered a boil water advisory for residents in those townships with City water service.

Extensive water use likely due to the extreme heat caused a loss of pressure earlier this morning in the Larkin and Mills township water systems. This loss of pressure could potentially result in the contamination of the water supply in those townships. Water service is currently being restored.

As a precautionary measure, all customers in Larkin and Mills townships are advised to boil water that will be used for drinking or cooking until further notice. Water should be boiled for at least five minutes and allowed to cool in a covered container. Bottled water may be used as an alternative to boiling.

An update will be issued when the boil advisory has been lifted. Following the return of water service, water is likely to be discolored and may contain air. Home plumbing should be flushed until the water runs clear. Continue boiling water for drinking and cooking purposes until notified by the City of Midland.

For more information or questions, contact the Midland Water Treatment Plant at 989-837-3515.
