June 9, 2020 – Following a temporary closure due to COVID-19 restrictions, City of Midland Parks and Recreation has reopened playground equipment in all City of Midland-maintained parks.
In addition, work continues to reopen the City’s two spray parks. Longview Spray Park, located near the intersection of Bay City and Waldo roads, is expected to open soon pending inspection by the Midland County Department of Public Health. Gerstacker Spray Park, located near the Farmers Market, sustained damage during the recent flooding but is expected to be operational later this summer.
Play equipment is not sanitized by the City and should be used at residents’ discretion. Social distancing practices while playing and hand washing or hand sanitizing after touching play equipment are strongly encouraged.
More information on City parks and a map of the City’s park locations can be found online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/recreation.
At this time, all non-essential City services and buildings remain closed through June 12, 2020. The City will continue to monitor public health information regarding COVID-19 and will reassess and alter its response as needed.
