[ARCHIVED] Update on Riverside Place Senior Community

May 25, 2020 – The City of Midland has issued an update regarding its Riverside Place senior living community in downtown Midland following the recent flooding event.

Riverside Place took on approximately 16 – 18 inches of water in its lower level due to flooding of the Tittabawassee River. Due to the current condition of the building and ongoing restoration work in progress, Riverside Place will remain closed until further notice. It is unknown at this time when Riverside Place will reopen for residents to permanently return.

Residents should prepare for extended alternate living arrangements if they cannot remain in their current location. Any resident in need of long-term sheltering arrangements should contact the American Red Cross at 833-583-3111 for assistance.

Belongings may remain in apartments while the building is closed. Residents may enter the building to access their apartments and belongings on the following days:

  • Tuesday, May 26: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 27: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Residents of Riverside Place are advised to change their mailing addresses, as all mail for Riverside Place is being held at the post office at this time.  Riverside Place residents should visit the post office, 2900 Rodd Street in Midland, to retrieve their mail and to change their mailing addresses.
