May 22, 2020 - Shelters remain open at Midland High School, West Midland Family Center, and North Midland Family Center. In addition, Midland Fairgrounds campgrounds, located at 6905 Eastman Avenue in Midland, is open to displaced families at no cost.
Statement from Fair Manager Trish Steele:
“In consideration of developing events in our community, the Midland Fairgrounds will waive the camping fee for residents who have been displaced by the tragic flooding in our region. The Midland Fairgrounds is truly saddened by the significant losses that are being reported by residents and hope this emergency shelter will provide comfort to those individuals.”
Pets are permitted in the campground and must be properly licensed and per City ordinance, be on a leash. Campers are encouraged to adhere to all social distancing and COVID-19 related recommendations to protect the health of their family and community. Contact the Midland Fair Office at 989-835-7901 and leave a message to make camping arrangements.
