[ARCHIVED] Yard Waste Stickers Required Beginning Monday, May 18

May 7, 2020 – The City of Midland’s free yard waste collection ends for the spring season on Friday, May 15. Collection stickers for yard waste bags and bins will be required starting Monday, May 18.

At this time, all City facilities remain closed to the public through Friday, May 15. To purchase a yard waste bin and/or bin sticker, residents should complete the form located at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/yardwaste and either: 1) Mail their form and payment to the address on the form, 333. W. Ellsworth Street, Midland, MI 48640; or 2) Place the form and payment into an envelope and put it into the secure drop box located outside the Municipal Service Center, 4811 N. Saginaw Road, Midland. For faster service, using the drop box is recommended. Yard waste bins and bin stickers cannot be purchased online or over the phone via credit card.

Fees for the yard waste program are as follows:

  • Yard waste bag stickers – 40 cents per bag
  • Yard waste bin annual sticker – $40
  • Additional yard waste bin annual sticker – $17 for each additional bin at the same address

Yard waste is collected curbside on your regular weekly refuse collection day. Yard waste must be placed in Kraft paper compost bags or blue, 95-gallon yard waste bins before being set at the curb.  Acceptable materials include grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, and small twigs and branches.

For additional information on yard waste collection or to find your collection day, visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/publicservices or contact the Department of Public Services by leaving a message via phone at 989-837-6900 or via email to dps@midland-mi.org.
