[ARCHIVED] City Construction Projects Planned for Spring & Summer 2014

Project Information Table

March 14, 2014 – The City of Midland Engineering Department is ramping up for a busy spring and summer, with various construction projects planned for roadways in Midland.

Major street projects that could affect citizens’ travel routes are described below. Also, a complete list of 2014 projects, including estimated start and completion dates, is provided in the table below.

Major streets scheduled to undergo street reconstruction include E. Ashman Street from Cambridge Street to Swede Avenue, Washington Street from E. Ashman Street to Patrick Road, Ellsworth Street from Ashman to George, and Rodd Street from Main to Buttles. The City anticipates street and lane closures during the projects, and detours will be posted.

A major street and utility improvement project will take place on Waldo Road from Wheeler Street to Diamond Drive. This project will install storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main to serve a future residential development north of the US 10 Highway.

The Airport Road Bridge over the Sturgeon Creek will be replaced, and repairs will take place on the Currie Bridge and Mark Putnam Bridge (Poseyville Road).

Street reconstruction activities will also take place on several local streets: Partridge Lane from Wackerly Street to Woodbridge Lane; Cambridge Street from St. Andrews to Boston Street; and Wallen Street from Kentwood Drive to Lancaster Street will undergo selective curb replacement, sidewalk repairs, ramp replacements, and street paving activities.

A current list of City projects and their estimated start and completion dates are included in the table attached. This same list can be found on the construction updates webpage on the City’s website. This page includes an interactive map with project information and daily updates on City of Midland construction projects that are currently in progress or planned for future dates.
