[ARCHIVED] City to Begin Yard Waste Collection on Monday, April 13

April 11, 2020 –   After a detailed review of Executive Order 2020-42 (“Stay Home, Stay Safe”) and receiving clarification on essential trash services, the City is pleased to announce that crews will begin collecting yard waste on Monday, April 13.

Brush collection and appliance collection is still suspended until the Governor’s Stay Home order is lifted.

In recognition of the delayed start of collection this season, collection will be free through Friday, May 15. Stickers on all bags and bins will be required starting Monday, May 18. Staff will start processing yard waste bin renewals from their home offices this week and mail bin stickers out to residents who submitted renewals through the mail.

Due to building closures at the Municipal Service Center and City Hall, residents cannot purchase stickers or bins in person at City facilities. Residents may purchase a City yard waste bin and bin stickers by completing the appropriate form(s) located online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/yardwaste and mailing the form and payment to City Hall, 333 W. Ellsworth Street, Midland, MI 48640 or by placing the form and payment inside the secure drop box located inside the front doors of City Hall. New bins will not be delivered until City services resume as normal.

All City offices and buildings and non-essential City services are closed through April 30, 2020 as outlined by Executive Order 2020-42 (“Stay Home, Stay Safe”) issued by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Thursday, April 9.
