[ARCHIVED] City Offices & Services Hours for Christmas, New Year's Holidays

December 6, 2019 – All City of Midland offices and non-emergency services will be closed Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25 in recognition of the Christmas holiday and Wednesday, January 1, 2020 in recognition of the New Year's holiday.

Residents with Tuesday, December 24 refuse and Tuesday Week 4 recycling collection should place items at the curb on Monday, December 23.  Residents with Wednesday, December 25 refuse and Wednesday Week 4 recycling collection should place items at the curb on Thursday, December 26.  Residents with Wednesday, January 1 refuse collection should place items at the curb on Thursday, January 2. Place items at the curb no later than 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection. Regular refuse collection will occur on Tuesday, December 31 for Tuesday refuse collection customers. There is no recycling collection for the week of December 31 – January 4.

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be open from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24 and will hold special post-holiday hours on Saturday, December 28 from 8:30 a.m. – noon. The Landfill will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library be closed on Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25. The Library will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31 and will be closed on Wednesday, January 1.

Midland Community Television (MCTV) will be closed from Monday, December 23 through Friday, December 27. It will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31 and reopen on Thursday, January 2 at 9:30 a.m. Regular programming will continue as scheduled.

Dial-A-Ride Transportation service (DART) will be closed Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; and Tuesday, January 1. On Tuesday, December 31, DART will observe regular phone service hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) with reduced bus service hours (6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and the last pick-up time at 5:30 p.m.

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; and Wednesday, January 1.

Midland Civic Arena will be closed Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25.  Go to www.midlandcivicarena.com for a complete public skating schedule.

Midland City Forest will be closed Christmas Day. Go to www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/cityforest for updates on when the Chalet will be open for toboggan, sled, ski, snowshoe and skate rentals, and for weather conditions relating to other outdoor activities.
