[ARCHIVED] Final Round of Curbside Fall Leaf Collection to Begin December 2

November 25, 2019 – The City of Midland Department of Public Services (DPS) will begin its final round of curbside fall leaf collection on Monday, December 2.

Collection crews will begin in Area B and then proceed through areas C, D, and A. Once each area has completed the final round of collection, street sweepers will come through to clean up the streets, weather permitting.

Residents are reminded that both leaf collection and street sweeping operations are highly weather-dependent. Daily progress updates during collection can be found online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/leafupdate, on the Leaf Collection Hotline by calling 989-837-3405, or on the MGTV message board on Charter Channel 188 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.

Residents may continue to rake leaves to the street before their area has received final collection. Residents with leaves remaining after final collection must place them into Kraft paper yard waste bags or bins for their scheduled refuse collection day. The 40-cent per bag stickers normally placed on yard waste bags are not required through the end of the yard waste collection season.

Please avoid parking on streets while crews and sweepers are working in your area and refrain from putting any leaves in the street once final collection has occurred.

Due to possible freezing temperatures, yard waste in bins may freeze, hampering their removal by collection crews. To help resolve this problem, please keep bins in the garage until collection day.

For questions or additional information, contact DPS at 989-837-6900.
