[ARCHIVED] Tee’d Up Downtown Online Sculpture Auction Begins Tonight

September 19, 2019 – Public art aficionados and fans of the Tee’d Up Downtown Summer Sculpture Series will have the opportunity to bid on their favorite pieces through an online auction beginning September 19 at 7 p.m.

Interested bidders can view the available pieces before the auction opens at www.biddingforgood.com/cityofmidland. Bidding will open at 7 p.m. tonight and close at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 26.  A minimum bid of $200 is required for each piece with no reserve price.

In addition, the Downtown Development Authority is pleased to announce the winners of the People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice awards for the 2019 Summer Sculpture Series:

  • People’s Choice Award winner: “Midland We Are” by Adam Papaik and Jayme Dauer
  • Judge’s Choice Award winner: “Shoebill: Not an Eagle” by Sally Allan and Audrey Berkan

The People’s Choice Award winner is selected by a vote of the public and receives a gift basket full of items from downtown businesses and sculpture series sponsors. The Judges’ Choice Award winner is selected by a panel of independent judges and receives a $2,500 cash prize.
