[ARCHIVED] City Promotes Frazee to Director of Wastewater Services

Patrick Frazee, Director of Wastewater Services

Patrick Frazee, Director of Wastewater ServicesJune 27, 2019 – The City of Midland is pleased to announce that Patrick Frazee has been promoted to Director of Wastewater Services effective Monday, July 1, 2019.

Frazee was hired as the City’s Wastewater Superintendent in April 2016 from the Genesee County Drain Commissioner Division of Water and Waste Services, where he served in a variety of roles, including laboratory supervisor, operations supervisor, and assistant treatment plant superintendent. Previously, Frazee also worked as an environmental compliance analyst and laboratory technician for the City of Saginaw Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Frazee holds a Class A Wastewater Certification and an Industrial Storm Water Operator Certification from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (formerly MDEQ), and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. In addition to his current role at the City, Frazee also serves as an adjunct instructor for the Water Environmental Technology (WET) program at Delta College and is a member of the program’s Advisory Committee.

“Patrick’s extensive knowledge and experience in wastewater management have made him an integral part of the City’s Utilities Department for the past 3 years,” said City Manager Brad Kaye. ”We appreciate his dedication to serving our community and look forward to his continued leadership in this new role.”

The announcement comes following a review and realignment of the City’s utilities departments that resulted in two newly restructured positions: the Director of Wastewater Services and the Director of Water Services. Each position directly oversees its respective treatment plant’s operations and staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and serves as a technical advisor to the City Manager and Midland City Council on utility and environmental issues. The Director of Water Services position is in the process of being filled at this time.
