March 15, 2019 – The City of Midland is pleased to announce that the 13th class of the annual Citizens Academy has graduated! Twenty-five residents attended an informal graduation ceremony in Council Chambers of Midland City Hall on Wednesday, March 13 to mark the culmination of the 10-week program.
During the academy, participants attend weekly 2-hour sessions that explore different functional areas of City government and learn about how their roles impact daily life for residents of Midland. Participants learn through a series of face-to-face sessions with the leaders of City departments and services as well as tours of City and County government facilities. Since 2007, the program has graduated over 300 participants.
