February 22, 2019 – The Midland Board of Review will hear property assessment appeals, by appointment only, Monday, March 11 through Thursday, March 14 at the City Assessor’s Office at Midland City Hall, 333 W. Ellsworth Street.

In an effort to expedite your appeal and eliminate long waits to meet with the Board, appointments will be accepted for those who wish to appeal their property assessment in person. The meeting schedule is as follows:

      Monday, March 11                                   1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

      Tuesday, March 12                                   1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

      Wednesday, March 13                             1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

      Thursday, March 14                                 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

The Board of Review will also accept applications for consideration of poverty exemptions and disabled veterans exemptions.  Applications are available at the City Assessor’s Office.

An appeal before the March 2019 Board of Review is required for further right of appeal to the Michigan Tax Tribunal.  An appeal to the Tribunal will only be accepted if an appeal is first made to the local Board of Review.  Beginning in 2007, commercial, industrial, developmental, and utility property may be appealed directly to the Tribunal without protest before the Board of Review, as provided for by P.A. 174 of 2006.

An appeal may be made in person or by letter, if received by the Board no later than March 14, 2019.  Residents who would like to make an appointment to speak with the Board or have questions about the 2019 Board of Review process may contact the City Assessor’s Office at 989-837-3334.
