November 20, 2018 – The City of Midland Department of Public Services (DPS) will begin its final round of fall leaf collection on Monday, November 26.
Collection crews will begin in Area B and then proceed through areas C, D, and A.
Residents can track the progress of collection crews online with the “Track the Leaf Trucks” map and daily text-based updates at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/leafupdate. Updates are also available by calling the Leaf Collection Hotline at 989-837-3405 or by watching the MGTV message board, Charter Channel 188 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.
Once each area has completed the final round of collection, street sweepers will come through to clean up the streets, weather permitting. Please avoid parking on streets while crews and sweepers are working in your area, and do not put any leaves in the street once collection is complete.
Residents with leaves remaining after the final collection must place them into kraft paper yard waste bags or bins for their scheduled refuse collection day. The 40-cent per bag stickers normally placed on yard waste bags are not required through the end of the yard waste collection season.
Due to possible freezing temperatures, yard waste in bins may freeze, hampering their removal by collection crews. To help resolve this problem, please keep bins in the garage until collection day.
