[ARCHIVED] City Office Closures for Thanksgiving Holiday

November 9, 2018 – Many City of Midland offices and services will be closed or operating under alternate hours on November 22 and 23 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Refuse and recyclables will not be collected on Thursday, November 22 or Friday, November 23.  Residents with Thursday, November 22 refuse and Thursday Week 3 recycling collections should place items at the curb on Wednesday, November 21.  Friday, November 23 refuse and Friday Week 3 recycling collections will take place on Monday, November 26.  Place refuse and recycling at the curb by 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection.

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be closed Thanksgiving Day. The Landfill will be open Friday, November 23 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday, November 24 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.  November 24 will be the last Saturday morning landfill hours until March 2019.

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will be closed Thanksgiving Day, November 22.  The Library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21 and Friday, November 23.  Regular hours will be maintained for the rest of the weekend.

Dial-A-Ride Transportation System (DART) will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 23.  DART will maintain normal Saturday and Sunday hours. 

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 23, but will operate as normal on Saturday and Sunday.
