October 10, 2018 – The final closure of a section of S. Saginaw Road in Midland will occur later this month, with a possible closure date as early as Monday, October 22.

The road vacation will permanently close S. Saginaw Road to public traffic between Salzburg Road and Mark Putnam Road. The final closure date is dependent upon the completion of an infrastructure improvement project on Waldo Avenue from S. Saginaw to Bay City Road, which is expected to finish by the end of this week.

A request by The Dow Chemical Co. to vacate the roadway was approved by Midland City Council in July 2017 and was contingent on traffic signal and street improvements being made to the Waldo Avenue corridor.

For more information, contact City Engineering at 989-837-3348. Updates will be shared on the City of Midland Facebook page at facebook.com/cityofmidlandmi and on Twitter at @CityofMidlandMI.
