[ARCHIVED] Historian of Native American Soldiers Speaking at the Library

September 10, 2018 – Local author and historian Quita V. Shier will be at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library to discuss her book Warriors in Mr. Lincoln’s Army: Native American Soldiers Who Fought in the Civil War. Shier has done decades of research on many of Michigan’s Native American soldiers who served in Company K. She will bring them to life and, in doing so, honor their contributions in history.

Ms. Shier will also be selling and signing her book after the discussion.

This free event will be held on Thursday, September 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Library Community Room. Call 989-837-3449 for more information or pick up a copy of the new Adult Services monthly calendar on your next library visit!
