[ARCHIVED] City Announces July 4th Celebrations

4th July Fireworks

June 22, 2018 – Enjoy July 4th festivities, but leave the fireworks to us! Join the City of Midland Parks and Recreation Department as it produces the area’s greatest display of fireworks and entertainment.

This year’s Fourth of July celebration will kick off at 8:00 p.m. on the front lawn of Dow Diamond with a concert by local favorite Jedi Mind Trip. Vendors will be on hand with your favorite food and beverages.  Bring your friends, family, and your lawn chairs and blankets to the event of the summer.

At dusk, you can expect the crown jewel of the evening – the annual Fourth of July fireworks, which can be viewed from the outside grounds of Dow Diamond, Founders Park, Whiting Overlook Park and other downtown locations.

For the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, personal fireworks like sparklers, firecrackers, and other items will be prohibited at the event.  As an additional safety measure, please consider leaving your pets at home while you enjoy the fireworks event.  Police officers will patrol the area during the fireworks spectacular.

For more information, visit us online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/events or contact the Midland Parks and Recreation Department at 989-837-6930 or via email at recreation@midland-mi.org.
