January 5, 2018 – The City of Midland is pleased to announce the hiring of Tony Dier as the Community Development Planner.
Tony comes to the City from Saginaw Charter Township, where he had worked since 2014 as an Associate Planner and, most recently, as the Assistant Director of Community Development. Tony holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and geography from Saginaw Valley State University and has a Michigan Citizen Planner certificate through Michigan State University Extension.
“We’re very excited to have added a talented and driven professional planner like Tony to our team,” said City Director of Planning and Community Development, Grant Murschel. “We are looking forward to him hitting the ground running to assist with the many planning and community development projects happening in the City.”
The position was vacated after Murschel was promoted to Director of Planning and Community Development in October 2017.
