[ARCHIVED] MPD to Host Next "Coffee With a Cop" on November 29

November 27, 2017 - On Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 8 to 10 a.m., the Midland Police Department and members of the community will come together at Big Apple Bagel in Midland to discuss community issues, build relationships, and enjoy a good cup of coffee and a bagel during a “Coffee with a Cop” event.

Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the police department’s work in the City of Midland. The majority of contact between the public and law enforcement happens during emergencies or emotional situations, which are not always the most effective times for relationship building. Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction between residents and the officers who serve and protect them.

Engaging the community in public safety efforts is a top priority of the Midland Police Department. MPD encourages all citizens to attend these events to share their concerns and meet the men and women who make every effort to address them.

Big Apple Bagels is located at 318 S. Saginaw Rd in Midland. Special thanks to the staff and the store Manager, Stacy Stockwell, of Big Apple Bagels for opening their business for this event. Any   questions   can   be   directed   to   Community   Relations   Sergeant   Chris   Wenzell   at   989-839-4704   or Cwenzell@midland-mi.org.

About Coffee with a Cop
