[ARCHIVED] City Office Closures for Thanksgiving Holiday 2017

November 17, 2017 All City of Midland offices will be closed on November 23 and 24 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Refuse and recyclables will not be collected on Thursday, November 23 or Friday, November 24.  Residents with Thursday, November 23 refuse and Thursday Week 3 recycling collections should place items at the curb on Wednesday, November 22.  Friday, November 24 refuse and Friday Week 3 recycling collections will take place on Monday, November 27.  Place refuse and recycling at the curb by 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection.

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be closed Thanksgiving Day. The Landfill will be open Friday, November 24 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday, November 25 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.  November 25 will be the last Saturday morning landfill hours until March 2018.

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will be closed Thanksgiving Day.  The Library will close early, at 5 p.m., both Wednesday, November 22 and Friday, November 24.  Regular hours will be maintained for the rest of the weekend.

Dial-A-Ride Transportation System (DART) will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 24.  DART will maintain normal Saturday and Sunday hours. 

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 24, but will operate as normal on Saturday and Sunday.
