[ARCHIVED] Update on Ashman and Washington Road Project

June 24, 2014 – Starting Thursday, June 26, motorists will notice a traffic shift change for the East Ashman Street / Washington Street road project currently in progress. The project involves reconstructing the roadway on East Ashman Street from Cambridge to Swede, and on Washington Street from East Ashman to Eastlawn.

Beginning Thursday, work will be performed on the north side of Ashman and on the west side of Washington. East Ashman will be closed to westbound traffic, but one lane will remain open for eastbound motorists. Washington Street will be closed to southbound traffic but remain open for one-way traffic traveling north. Detours will be posted routing motorists around the area.

Work is expected to be completed by late July.

With the 2014 construction season now underway, motorists are encouraged to sign up for weekly and last-minute construction updates by subscribing to City Hall News on the City of Midland website at http://www.cityofmidlandmi.gov. Motorists may also check the construction updates page on the City’s website for construction details.

For questions or further information regarding the project, contact the City’s Engineering Department at 989-837-3348.
