April 18, 2017 – City of Midland Parks and Recreation announced today that contractors have begun renovations on one of Midland’s most iconic landmarks: the Tridge. The project, which includes re-staining, replacing the original wood decking, railing posts, and overhead beams, and installing a new LED lighting system, will severely limit pedestrian access for approximately 22 to 25 weeks.
During renovations, residents are encouraged to seek alternate routes to area parks and amenities. Chippewassee Park, including the Midland Dog Park and Trilogy Skate Park, can be accessed via Golfside Drive off of Currie Parkway. Redcoats Softball Complex and the Chippewa Banks Disc Golf Course can be accessed from St. Charles Street off of Poseyville Road.
One leg of the Tridge will briefly reopen to pedestrian traffic from July 4 through 18 to accommodate Midland’s Independence Day and Riverdays celebrations. During that time, the Tridge will be accessible from the Farmers Market to Chippewassee Park.
