February 3, 2017 - The Midland Police Department Traffic Safety Team, in collaboration with the patrol division, will be focusing on stop sign violations throughout the city during the month of February.
Statistics show that during 2016, there were 1,367 crashes reported in the City of Midland. Of the 1,367 crashes, there were 125 crashes related to individuals not stopping at signed intersections. Officers will focus primarily on residential neighborhoods and areas where the speed limit is 25 to 35 miles per hour (mph). This includes areas such as the Downtown District, school zones, and residential districts.
The focus of this campaign is to keep our citizens safe while travelling through intersections and to reduce the amount of intersection-related crashes.
