Join us as we celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks, food and fun! The year’s 4th of July Celebration includes music from Slick Jimmy, Midland’s premier 80’s cover band! Slick Jimmy will rock out on the front lawn of the Dow Diamond at 8:00 p.m. followed by the crown jewel of the evening, the annual fireworks display at dusk.
The fireworks will be launched from the St. Charles Softball Diamonds. To accommodate the launch, St. Charles Street and Towsley Street will be closed from 6 a.m. on Sunday, July 4 to 6 a.m. on Monday, July 5. Crews will also close the Chippewa Trail between the Tridge and Whitman Drive, including the Chippewa Trail leg of the Tridge, on Sunday, July 4 from 6 a.m. to midnight.
The fireworks can be viewed from the lawn areas around Dow Diamond (including Founders Park), Whiting Overlook Park, Putman Park and many other downtown locations. In addition to the fireworks, vendors will be on hand with your favorite food and beverages to keep your family full. Bring your friends, family, and your lawn chairs and blankets to the event of the summer!
