You may not burn rubbish, trash or leaves in the city of Midland. However, recreational fires, such as campfires or brush fires, are allowed provided certain regulations are adhered to.
Campfire Safety
The family camping trip is one of the most memorable events Americans undertake each summer. And what would a camping trip be without a camp fire? It is important to follow the park’s rules for the use and extinguishing of campfires.
- Build campfires where they will not spread, away from dry grass and leaves.
- Keep campfires small, and don’t let them get out of hand.
- Keep plenty of water and a shovel on hand to douse the fire when you are done. Stir it and douse it again with water.
- Never leave campfires unattended.
- Build your fire downwind and far away from you tent or camper.
