Household refuse and yard waste is collected weekly on your scheduled day, Monday - Friday. All refuse set at the curb must be generated from that address. Place refuse and yard waste side-by-side at the curb by 7:30 a.m. on your collection day and no sooner than 6 p.m. on the day before your collection. Bins may not be stored at the curb. All bins shall be removed from the curb after being emptied on the day of collection or are subject to removal by the City with all costs incurred billed to the property owner.
Refuse Containers
Refuse is collected in cans with handles, tied plastic bags, and gray City of Midland refuse bins. Please bag all refuse in cans and City bins to avoid creating a litter hazard. Cans and plastic bags must be closed and weigh less than 50 pounds. Gray refuse bins are wheeled trash bins with attached lids purchased from the City of Midland. The bins are 95-gallon containers (comparable to 6-8 kitchen-size trash bags; weight limit 200 lbs.) and cost $80 each. The Department of Public Services will deliver your purchased bin to your home, in the City limits, within 10 business days from the date your order is received. There is no charge for delivery.
