Winter recreation at City Forest begins when steady temperatures and snowfall will allow us to open our attractions. While we wish this happened on December 1, it typically does not. The ground must freeze in order to sustain the ice rink and trails, and we must have a base of snow and temperatures and humidity that allow for snowmaking. When these conditions are met, we will open City Forest. Also keep in mind that the toboggan runs are hand packed and iced - not refrigerated - and very sensitive to weather and overuse. They close often and sometimes unexpectedly. Please check our weather app before you make a trip to City Forest.
Know Before You Go!
At City Forest we are always working to make sure our attractions are up and running but weather isn't always cooperative. Please call our Rainout Line at 989-399-0506 or check online to confirm your favorite attractions such as tobogganing and sledding are up and running.
