Hall of Fame Selection Moved to Biennial Format
The Midland Amateur Sports Capital Committee made the decision in the fall of 2022 to change the current format of the Hall of Fame Banquet to a biennial format. The next Hall of Fame Banquet will take place in 2024.
Midland County Sports Hall of Fame
Established in 1990 by the Midland Amateur Sports Capital Committee (MASCC) to honor athletes, sports persons, coaches, administrators and benefactors who have made a significant impact on Midland County sports programs. The annual induction banquet is hosted in the spring in even years.
The Hall of Fame showcase is located at Dow Diamond. All are invited to visit this showcase which includes inductee plaques highlighting member biographies, photos and memorabilia. Admission to the Hall of Fame is free on non-game days.
Nomination forms are available at the Midland Parks and Recreation office or the Midland CVB and are due by November 15th on odd years to be eligible for consideriation into the following Hall of Fame.

Nomination Information
If you have a worthy candidate please be encouraged to complete the nomination form (available online here or via pdf here) and return it to the Midland Parks and Recreation Office by November 15th, of odd years. All nomination forms are held for a period of three Hall of Fame cycles.
Two induction postponement considerations are:
1. Age of applicant(s). If still competing at same level with possible success in same category.
2. There will be a 3 year grace period after the notable achievement to allow for additional successes in competition.
All nominees will be contacted on the status of their induction after the selection committee has convened. All applications are held for three Hall of Fame cycles and candidates who are not selected within this time period years can be re-nominated. The Hall of Fame induction banquet will take place every other year in even years. Midland Amateur Sports Capital Committee members will work with inductees on gathering their banquet information.
In addition to the 3 letters of reference, nominators should include a one page synopsis of the outstanding achievements of the nominee, such as the duration of the person’s career, individual awards or honors and/or the significant contributions made. (Awards must be documented). This form may be accompanied by scrapbooks or other supporting documentation. All materials will be returned.
Nomination Criteria
- Made outstanding contributions to sports either as an athlete, sports person, coach, administrator, benefactor, or visionary.
- Resided, worked, or competed in Midland County and made an outstanding contribution to sports in amateur, high school, college or professional ranks.
- Teams which have won State, Regional, National, or International Championships.
