September 21, 2017 – Midland City Council is accepting applications to fill an open position on the Board of Review. The position will fill an unexpired term to end June 30, 2019.
The Board of Review meets for the purpose of hearing appeals on the assessed value of property by property owners. Board members are appointed by the City Council, and the board is comprised of three people who are taxpayers to the city and have been residents of the city for not less than three years. The board meets three times a year – once in July, once in December, and a third time for five to ten days in March to hear property tax appeals.
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2017. Forms are located on the City of Midland website, www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/boardscommissions or in hard copy form through the City Manager’s Office, 333 W. Ellsworth St.
